Many thanks to David Major of Northampton AC for recently sending through a digital copy of the NCAS 50th Anniversary Commemorative Programme from the year 2000. David was kindly lent a copy of the programme by long standing NAC member Pete Bond.
Compiled for the anniversary celebrations by the late David Clarke, the programme is a fantastic window into the history or archery in Northamptonshire. With photographs, minutes from the inaugural meeting and the original 1950 constitution, lists of past chairman and committee members, as well as listing county champions all the way back to 1951.
The last of the 5 sessions planned for the 2015 – 2016 indoor season was completed in March.
I would like to thank the parents of our juniors who supported these sessions, the coaches who gave up their time and most of all the juniors themselves for their enthusiasm, dedication and hard work.
We will be arranging new sessions commencing in November 2016 through to March 2017 and very much look forward to seeing both new and old faces.
Whilst we will be mailing all clubs in September with details, if juniors would like to reserve a place now, please contact me by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org I will need your name and club details, age in September 16, bow style and contact details please.
We welcome all bow styles and ages up to 21.
For those who have not attended the previous junior coaching sessions, we have covered:
Strength & Conditioning exercises
AGB Bow Skills and Drills
Progression pathways – County / Region / AGB academy’s
Head to Head experience
These sessions are not possible without the support of our Counties Coaches who have our thanks for making each of the sessions such a success.
The results are now available from the NCAS County & Open Indoor Championships held on Sunday 13th March 2016. The event was once again hosted by Targetcraft Archers as Montsaye Community Sports Centre in Rothwell.
