Over the last few days Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds, has been representing Great Britain in the senior team, at Stage 1 of the Archery World Cup in Shanghai, China.
On Wednesday 23rd April, Brad qualified in 79th place after the ranking round with a FITA 70m score of 623. Sean Evans also competing in the senior team for the first time, qualified in 59th with 640. Larry Godfrey qualified 26th with 651.
In the elimination rounds on Thursday 24th April, Bradley was unfortunately beaten in his first round match, losing 6-0 to Kang Tien of Chinese Taipei who ranked 34th. Only losing out in each set by just a couple of points 27/29 25/27 27/29.
Sean won his first round match 7-1 against Fabio C Emilio of Brazil. But lost in the next round the Florian Kahllund of Germany in a very close match 6-4. Larry won both his first and second round matches before being beaten in the last 16 by C.L Dalmei of Brazil 6-2.
The Field Archery League which Long Buckby Archery Club participated in during the winter, LBAC are going to carry on the same format through spring into summer.
The shoots are aiming to create opportunities to introduce new people to Field Archery and increase support for field locally. It is open to any archers in the county who wish to take part. 12 target field rounds

Spaces are still available for Nene Bowmen’s 35th annual Ken Inkley Memorial Shoot on Sunday 27th April, at Ferry Meadows Country Park.
American round, including shorter and junior versions if required (see entry form).
This is a great early shoot to start off the outdoor season. Ideal for all levels of ability. If the clubs could mention this shoot to their newer members as another possible nice first or early tournament, that would be appreciated.
Jon Bull of Targetcraft Archers has been selected to represent GB again this year in the Junior Compound team.
The conditions at Lilleshall on 12th & 13th April were again difficult with swirling winds and low temperatures. The GB Junior Compound team remains the same as last year, Jon Bull, Jake Burn and Jordan Mitchell. Just five points separated these three after 12 dozen arrows in the ranking round followed by 6 head to head matches.
Jon will be taking part in the European Championships in Slovenia in May and the European Cup later in the year in Russia.
Jon has also qualified to take part in the Senior Compound selection shoot to be held again at Lilleshall in May.
Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds also qualified for Slovenia on the day in the Cadet category. Having already qualified for the senior GB team for first World Cup event of the year in Shanghai.
