- The league will be open to all county adult and junior archers shooting at all open county and county club shoots for a complete indoor and outdoor season (excluding inter county shoots, closed club shoots, or shoots not advertised on the county website)
- Entry is automatic, archers/clubs need do nothing other than to make sure that always use the same name on all entries (e.g. Bob or Robert) and that archers clubs are recorded on the results sheet
- Only scores published on the County website will be taken into account
- The league will start at the first open shoot of the Indoor season after 1st October and will end at the last shoot of the outdoor season before 30th September, which is usually the NCAS County & Open Outdoor Championships
- All archers will compete against each other irrespective of gender or bow specification
- Points are awarded based on the tournament results and will award all archers for attending and shooting regardless of category
- The additional points for placing 3rd, 2nd or 1st, will only apply to those who have shot within category. For clarity, shooting within category means that archers shoot the correct round and distance for their age-group and gender. Junior archers wishing to shoot above category, will receive any points achieved alongside those in the same category in which they have shot
- The points system has been designed to first and foremost to encourage archers to attend shoots but also to reward those who shoot well. The points system is as follows:
- 3 points for attending and competing, regardless for category
- 3 or more archers shooting in a bow style, within category; 3 points for first, 2 points for second, 1 point for third
- 2 archers shooting in a bow style, within category; 2 points for first, 1 point for second
- 1 archer shooting in a bow style, within category; 1 point
- Archers will only be placed against other NCAS archers, for example if there are to be 10 archers in a bow style and 5 are from out of county, then points will be awarded to the first, second and third highest scoring county archers irrespective of where they are placed overall.
- Points are only awarded to those who complete the round/tournament and receive a placing.
- For indoor rounds only, single round results will count. In the case of the Duston Triple, only those entering the triple would be awarded the additional points for finishing, first, second or third. Anyone completing an individual round only is awarded 3 points for attending and competing, regardless for category
- For declared ‘Single & Double’ outdoor competitions, it would be the single round scores that are awarded the additional points for finishing, first, second or third. For competitions that are declared ‘Double’ only, then it is the double round scores that are awarded the additional points for finishing, first, second or third.
- As the NCAS Field Shoot is a two day event double attendance points will be awarded, however points for first, second, third will not be doubled
- In the event of a draw then the amount of shoots attended will be taken into account, the person who attended the most will win
- The league will appear on the NCAS website throughout the year and will be updated as soon as possible once the results of each tournament are available
- Archers will be encouraged to challenge the league as it progresses should they have any queries with the points awarded, contact the county records officer: web@ncasarchery.org.uk
Good luck!
