Our county juniors have been busy over the past summer months, with lots of new county record scores.
Leonie Allen of Targetcraft Archers improved on many of her own county records at this years Weatherby FITA Star in June. Scores include the overall Metric IV record with 1255, 40m distance with 289, 30m distance with 322 and 10m distance with 344. Leonie also improved the Long Metric IV record with 611. Well done to her.
David Forster of Nene Bowmen scored a bag full of new records, most of which were improvements on his own previous records achieved earlier in the year. One of David's scores was a new Junior Recurve Gents FITA score of 1144 at the Junior Outdoor Nationals. Beating Stuart Morris' long standing previous record of 1138 set in September 1990.
Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds has also scored plenty of new records, including the Short Western score of 788 which helped him become Junior National Champion for his age group.
Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds WON the Junior National Championships and came 2nd to a member of the Scottish team at the Junior FITA in the Metric 3 age group. This was a fantastic performance by Bradley and in the process of winning he beat members of all the national teams at the home nations tournament.
David Forster came runner up in the both the Gents Fita and the York (New Western), weather conditions on the Saturday were as near perfect as any archer could ask for BUT on the Sunday the wind was horrendous with gusts approaching 50mph and targets regularly falling over it was very wisely decided that the York and Bristol round should be shortened to the Western family of rounds, even with this round it was still mid afternoon by the time the tournament was finished.
A massive congratulations to Both these Archers and to Jon Bull, Josh Hall & George Avril for managing to shoot and perform well on the day.

NEW NATIONAL RECORD FOR DAVID
David Forster of Nene Bowmen continues to shoot very well and seems to be enjoying his summer. David broke the junior gents record national record for a Long National round at this years Grand National Archery Meeting (GNAM). His score of 545 broke the previous record which has stood since 2001. It's also quite a big improvement on his own county record of 513, set less than a month ago.
Lots of records for Jordan and more for David
Jordan Marsh of Nene Bowmen enjoyed her first ever tournament setting FOUR junior ladies recurve county records! Jordan went along to this years Grand National Archery Meeting (GNAM) in June, where she scored 667 for the Double Hereford, 184 for a Long National, 280 for a FITA 70m, and finally 378 for a Double FITA 70m. Jordan also had the experience of shooting in the same team as GB team member Michael Peart during the 70m team event.
Very well done to Jordan!
David Forster has four other new county records following the GNAM and summer event. David improved on his own FITA 70m score with an impressive 594, his previous score was 553. He also improved his record for the Double FITA 70m from 1112 to 1171. David also shot two great Hereford round scores with 1142 for the single round (previous record was 1026 set by James Mason in 2006), and the Double Hereford with 2254!
