NCAS Juniors Win Sydney Bond!

Congratulations to Northamptonshire’s Junior Recurve team for winning this years Syndey Bond Trophy at the EMAS Inter-county team tournament! The event was held on Sunday 27th July, hosted by Aequus Archers in Loscoe in Derbyshire.

The recurve team, made up of Imogen Neville, Amber Wilkins, Katie Bayliss, Ruby Paul, Neve Spence and Daniel Nixon, scored 5451 points overall, ahead of Lincolnshire who scored 5306, Leicestershire & Rutland 5296, Nottinghamshire 5140 and Derbyshire 4666.

Katie Bayliss won the ladies Bristol II round with a new county record score of 1104. Amber Wilkins come second with 943. Daniel Nixon came third in the gents Bristol I with 864. Imogen Neville was just short of a ladies Bristol III record with 1145 finishing in second place. Ruby Paul won the ladies Bristol IV with 1136. And Neve Spence won the ladies Bristol 5 with a fantastic score of 1202, just two points short of the current county record.

The compound team shot well also but were unfortunately unable to field a full team. Kayleigh Dunkley shot a new Bristol II county record with 1068. And George Stubbs finished in second place in the gents Bristol II with 1100.

Results

This is a great results for Northamptonshire, and show’s the great progress being made by our junior archers. A special mention should go to Archers of Raunds who are doing a great job in bringing their junior archers through.
