Katherine Langton of Wicken Archery Club finished in 1st place at this years SCAS Outdoor Regional Championphips. The shoot hosted by Rayleigh Town Archery Club of Banfleet in Essex, is one of the largest junior archery events outside of the Junior Nationals.
Katie, one of 11 under 12 girls competing in the Bristol V round, found herself just 4 points off the lead half way through the day. After the second distance she had managed to pull out a 4 point lead! A tense final distance of 24 arrows went right down to the last three arrows, where Katie held her nerve and won by 2 points with a final county record score of 1204.
Being a member of EMAS and a visitor, Katie couldn’t take home the trophy but she did come away with a gold medal and a SCAS badge for her achievement.
