This year we are planning to hold 5 junior coaching sessions running from November 2015 to March 2016. The format will be similar to last year with the emphasis for Juniors to meet and get to know the County Juniors, skill acquisition, strength and conditioning exercises, bow set up, tuning, competition preparation. We hope that as last year members of the AGB Academy will also be present at our sessions and that a specialist Strength and Conditioning coach will be on hand. Above all, the coaching sessions will, hopefully, be fun.
The coaching sessions will be open to all Juniors within the FITA age range (up to 21) and open to all bow styles.
Each session will be held on Sunday afternoons at Montsaye Community College in Rothwell, on the following dates…
15th November
20th December
17th January
7th February
27th March
Coaches Wanted!
I would like to hear from any Coaches who would like to support these sessions. We will hopefully as last year, be placing the Juniors into coaching groups with a minimum of two coaches per group. Therefore if you are just embarking on a level one course, don’t think that these sessions are not for you. By working with more experienced coaches, you will gain valuable experience. For more experienced coaches, you will lead activities within the group using the plan – do – review coaching practice.
If you helped last year, enjoyed the experience and would like to do it again, can you please let me know.
If you were not there last year, but would like to help our excellent Juniors improve further, please let me know.

Archers Wanted!
If you are interested in attending the 2015 / 2016 Junior Coaching Sessions please drop me an email. We will need to know:

Places will be limited, we think dependent upon Coach availability, between 25 and 30 Juniors. There is no selection process, it will be on a first come, first served basis. We have had a fabulous response to date from both juniors wishing to attend and coaches wanting to assist. There are still places available.
A small fee of £25 per archer is expected to help cover some costs, but as last year NCAS will be subsidising these sessions. Many County Clubs are also helping their Junior Archers to attend, ask what yours can do.
We look forward to welcoming both Coaches and Archers to the 2015 / 2016 coaching sessions.
