The John Hartfield Memorial Shoot, incorporating EMAS and NCAS field championships was held over the weekend of the 18th and 19th June.
60 archers from all over Britain and Ireland attended the shoot hosted by Long Buckby Archery Club, at their brand new field course in Daventry. The shoot was a great success with many excellent comments made about the new course, which has taken LBAC some 6 months to build and was only completed a few days before the shoot. Despite challenging weather conditions, especially on the Saturday, everybody had a great time with many archers promising return next year.
Hot food and drinks were served throughout the weekend by Long Buckby Scouts and the President of GNAS even attended on the Sunday and was extremely impressed by the whole event and the new course.
County and EMAS championships were won by James Haycock (Compound), Mark Holford (Barebow), Glenn Taylor (Recurve) and Alex Ross won on the Sunday for a single round and became Jnr County and EMAS champ. We hope to have a full result sheet available soon.
LBAC would like to thank Jamie and Chris for their help preparing the target faces and helping to measure up on the Friday and Angie and Chris for coming over to help with the raffle and field party on the Sunday.
And finally very special thanks should go to John Hartfield for all his help in designing and building the course and to Ann Hartfield for organizing the shoot itself.
