Northants vs Beds Inter-county Frostbite Postal Match

Hi All Archers!!!

I know he’s at it again and a lot of you have been asking if the intercounty Frost Bite shoot will be on this year I can confirm its on!!

Similar format as before see below, alongside the intercounty bit I’m going to run the novice shoot again so if you could all do the usual shout out at the clubs circulate as required.

So please see the below.

As the heading suggests, in collaboration with Bedfordshire, we have arranged a intercounty match. Details as follows.

We are hoping that all NCAS clubs and archers will be able to take part.

1. Round to be shot: Frost Bite, 80cm face @30m including all the junior rounds (Cold Bite @20m Chilly Bite@10m not official round but get some new archers and those that can’t get 30m).

2. Eligible archers: All genders and ages. If a junior please give your age and round/distance shot.

3. Bow Styles: All Compound, Recurve, Barebow & Longbow, Including Traditional ( Wooden Arrows, wooden Bow) outside of Longbow.

4. When to be shot: Starts Nov1st 2023 closing date 31st March 2024.

5. How round is to be shot: Where possible can the 3 dozen be shot on the same day.

6. Record all the scores as you would normally, X`s, 10`s and so on. Please submit the final score totals only (not each individual arrow value) in the normal format, including the following information.

Archer, Gender. Club. Bow Style. Senior/Junior (if junior age) Please indicate if you’re a Novice and round shot. Hits, 10’s, X’s, Score

Example: J Doe. Female. Earth. Longbow. Senior. 36 (hits). 13 (10’s). 5 (X’s). Score: 360.

7. All the scores will be on trust. We will be watching you.

8. Scores can be submitted either by sending the details direct to myself or your club selection committee volunteer. If these are to be sent direct to me please let me know details as mention in point 6.

NCAS vs BCAA Inter-County Postal Frostbite Results

Hi Archers!!

So for the 90+ archers that took part in the intercounty Frostbite shoot the results are in!!

From the 90+ the following team size was agreed between the 2 counties.

6 Snr Recurve
6 Snr Comp
6 LB/FB/TRAD Et.. (wooden arrows)
6 Barebow
5 Juniors ‘any bow style’

It was a close run event up to the point where there was only 7 points between both counties.

6648 to BCAA with 6641 to NCAS.

Then the junior scores were added and the victory went to… NCAS by 149 points.

BEDS (BCAA) – 7815
NCAS – 7964

Well done for all those that took part, Frostbite badges and the other bits will be out to your club reps shortly to hand out thankyou again for taking part.

Thank you to all that attended our Frostbite shoot, a bit on the chilly side with a steady breeze!!!

A big thank you to all that helped set up and packed down greatly appreciated. Ronnie for all the kit to help with prepping the soup and rolls and with Jo’s assistance at the half way point & with Hot drinks throughout the day. And not forgetting Sandy for the Donuts, a welcomed sweet treat.

1. Round to be shot: Frostbite, including all the junior rounds (M1, M2,M3,M4, M5)

2. Eligible archers: All genders and ages. If a junior please give your age and round/distance shot

3. Bow Styles: All Including Traditional (Wooden Arrows, BB & Horse Bow)outside of Longbow

4. When to be shot: All scores to be in by 26th Feb 2023

5. How round is to be shot: Where possible can the 3 dozen be shot on the same day.

6. Record all the scores as you would normally, X`s, 10`s and so on. Please submit the final score totals only (not each individual arrow value) in the normal format, including the following information. Archer, Gender. Club.
Bow Style. Senior/Junior (if junior age and which round shot).

Example: J Doe. Female. Earth. Longbow. Senior. X 23. 10 13. Score 360.

7. All the scores will be on trust. We will be watching you.

That`s it. Please acknowledge receipt of this email and if possible let me know that you will be taking part and we can expect scores from your archers. I think that every county rep has been included in this email where the county clubs have acknowledge who their Rep is. If that is not the case please let us know or pass it on.

Hi, All Archers who took part in the recent Postal Shoot!!

Yes I’m back with the results I would like to thank you all that took part putting your scores in and keeping me busy as per the normal for this event I will be passing out badges to all that took part along with certificates medals, broaches etc depending if you made the final squad or took part.

On this occasion we outnumbered the archers from SCAA by 5 to 1 !! so we in for a good to chance!!

Some fantastic scores submitted and when you look at the scores submitted you will see what I meen.

So as usual couldn’t tell you what the weather was like, but I’m hoping you all enjoyed getting the scores, now enough of my ramblings time for the scores so here we go!!

Again I’d like to thank Clair SCAA team manager/ Captain for working with me on this one and to Helen for getting us to speak to each other to put the event on.
