Congratulations to the Northants county team, who on beat Leicestershire & Rutland for the first time in several attempts over the past few years!
The annual match took place on Sunday 28th September, at Bowmen of Rutland’s ground at Greetham Valley Golf Club near Melton Mowbray.
Northants won the Gents Compound division 5342-5142 with great scores from Jon Bull, James Mason, Martin Ross and Tim Bull. The county also won the Ladies Compound 2619-2381, with Susan Corless and Frances Bull coming first and second respectively.
The Gents Recurve team narrowly lost 6959-6853 despite some high individual scores from John Inkley, Shahram Montasser and Jeremy Beesley. The ladies were also narrowly beaten 3475-3253.
The Leicestershire Longbow team won their event 1334-1063.
The junior recurves where on great form, winning 7154-6585. Will Ross of Long Buckby shot really well in the junior compounds but was beaten 1376-1289 by Mia Agar.
The overall team scores ended… Northants 27573 – Leicestershire 27176.
