Denitsa Wins Barebow Bronze at JNOC 2022

Denitsa Wins Barebow Bronze at JNOC 2022

Denitsa Dimitrova of Northampton AC won a bronze medal in the Under 16 Ladies Barrow Metric III, at the Junior National Outdoor Championship on 2-3 July at Lilleshall. She missed out on a medal by just 3 points on Day 2. Once ratified her score of 959 will also be a new NCAS county record.

Denitsa said, “It was my first National challenge and only my 3rd competition after I started to compete barebow in March this year. It was a lot of pressure as I competed with many experienced archers and I had no idea about the structure of the competition. It was also a great experience to shoot with the Junior Archery GB Team members as they are real athletes with high spirit and sport attitude. Although I felt nervous in the beginning everyone was friendly and made me feel relaxed and comfortable as a novice. I did my best in both of the days despite the heavy rain, equipment failure and the multiple interruptions of the competition. I needed to utilise all my body and mind to compete on the highest level at all times. I couldn’t have won without the continuous support and encouragement from my NAC team and WOAC coaches. Thank you all for believing in me.”

Many congratulations to Denitsa!
