2021 NCAS Charity Shoot Update

2021 NCAS Charity Shoot Update

The following has previously been sent out to clubs, but for those who might not have seen it, or who’s clubs have not yet responded to Helen, please have a read and encourage your clubs to take part if they are in a position to do so. It’s for a fantastic cause.

“Following on from some queries regarding a couple of matters, I felt it now appropriately timed to update everyone.

As you are aware I have been planning this years county charity shoot which was going to be similarly run to the event in 2019.

However, as we are coming out of restrictions and clubs/archers being at different stages and levels of confidence, I have spoken to key members of NCAS regarding changes and ways to best hold an event but differently for 2021.

So with this in mind it is my intention to invite any club in the county between the 5/6/21 and 4/7/21 to host their archers to shoot and make a donation to the charity collection.

It has been agreed that we will shoot for only 1 charity this year – Cransley Hospice.

If clubs would like to contact me to register their interest and I can collate the details and fundraising on behalf of the county.
I would like to leave the choice of round to each club along with selecting the date of their event to ensure it is the best option for their members who wish to take part.

My second item is in regards to Christine Marshall. Many of us would have attended the funeral in person if conditions had allowed.
Chris was a dear friend to many of us and those of us that knew her well know she was a planner.

Following one of our regular communications, this one on New Year’s Eve, as I was given some instructions, I had to make contact with key members of the county to update them. During those calls conversations were had that if we could manage to get together once more to chat with Chris, but as we had suspected time did not allow this.
Knowing this may be the case we had also discussed other options and I did speak with Chris regarding these ideas.

As is tradition we will be hosting a volley and this will still go ahead. I have spoken with the family and as a club and county we will be arranging this for a time that is suitable as we come out of lockdown. It is something that I also briefly discussed with AGB in the early new year to ensure that I can safely make arrangements for archers to do what we do to mark our respects to a beloved friend that we have lost.

I will release details as arrangements are made but I wished, at this time, for those not already aware of the plans being put in place, to be reassured that it has not been missed.”

Kind regards

NCAS Dawn til Dusk Charity Shoot 2021!

NCAS Dawn til Dusk Charity Shoot 2021!

Hello everyone,

As you know when I organised the NCAS charity shoot in 2019 I told you all that I would repeat the madness in 2021.

My aim, if the pandemic allows, is another dawn to dusk shoot as we had great fun and the sessions allowed people to do as much or as little they wanted.

This year we will be raising money for Cransley Hospice (dear to the hearts of many in the county for care of members of our archery family), again the East Midlands Air Ambulance (as we spent the money we raised on an emergency at an archery field in the county) and Young Minds which is a charity aimed at supporting children and young people’s mental health.

So I would like you to firstly, take a look at your calendars in 2021 and I would like to set the date for the end of June – let me know if there are any issues that I might need to avoid. Also, if the pandemic prevents it as the dawn to dusk format please have a think of ideas if we need to do something a little different.

Wishing you all a healthy 2021 and hope to see us all back out shooting soon.

NCAS Dawn til Dusk – Target List

NCAS Dawn til Dusk – Target List

Countdown is ticking on and we are getting close to the start of our crazy day of arrows!

I hope that everyone has a great time, please see attached a preliminary target list.

If I wasn’t sure exactly what you want to do I may have booked you into more than you may want, don’t worry, I don’t know what everyone wants to show bow style wise as I know some people have discussed a different bow for each session, again don’t worry.

There may be people who join you as there is an open invitation to turn up and shoot if they find they have time on the day, everyone is welcome to come and shoot when we are all there with the same aim, have fun for charity.

Any questions please ask.

There will be spaces on the score sheets to complete any missing information to ensure that when we collars the results for the Chris mason league that the results are accurate.

There will be no medals, however there is a little memento planned for each archer taking part, this will not be ready on Saturday but I will get them out to everyone afterwards, it is a little surprise to say thank you for taking part and to remind you afterwards that we all had a great day for a great cause.

A reminder that the event will count towards the 2018/19 Chris Mason Celebration League. Archers highest single National round score of the day will be used, regardless of session. Please email the county records officer Dean Edwards if you need clarification.

Weather – the forecast for Saturday is still hot!!! Exactly what we need on an endurance shoot!
Please be mindful of the possible heatwave when planning clothing and what to bring with you on the day. The day is about fun, not making ourselves unwell.

Otherwise see you all on Saturday unless you are camping, see you all on Friday.
