It is with great sadness that I have just heard the news of the sudden death of EMAS chairman Alan Staples. Alan was one of the good guys, was really trying to move EMAS forward and a real ally of Northamptonshire on the EMAS committee.
I will be attending an EMAS meeting next week where I will hopefully learn more of the circumstances of Alan’s death and who might replace him. The EMAS inter-county Thoresby shoot is still going ahead on Sunday where I expect something will be done to remember Alan.
