Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds returned from China this week where he competed in the Youth Olympic Games. This is what he had to say about his experience on his Facebook page.
“I have really enjoyed competing in the Youth Olympic Games. I have had my best individual result at international competition so far! Being knocked out in the 1/4 finals and with a final rank of 8th. I’m even more pleased with our shooting in the mix team, also getting knocked out in the 1/4 finals being decided with a shoot-off and with a final rank of 5th place.
I would seriously like to Thank friends and family and the support they showed for me from back home, on this particular trip being in China for so long, it was very helpful! All the words of encouragement were really nice to read and know that so many people are behind me!”
David Major of NAC has recently posted this great video onto Youtube, and would like to know if anyone can help to pin down what the actual event was and also the date. It would also be great to indentify any of the archers not mentioned in the narrative.
The venue looks like Manor School at Raunds, so it’s likely to be either a Rose of the Shires tournament, or County Championships from the late 1980’s early 1990’s. There are several familar names in there including our county team captain Martin Ross, Targetcraft’s Colin Thwaites, along with Sid Owen and Paul Bond of NAC.
If you have any information about the video, please email David Major.
