Jon Bull of Targetcraft Archers has continued his great start to the indoor season by claiming two new junior gents compound national records.
At Clophill Archery Clubs Annual Open Portsmouth Tournament on 10th November 2012, Jon scored and fantastic 592 in the morning session to claim a new single round national record, and then scored 584 in the afternoon to claim the double round record on the same day. These of course are also new county and regional records also.
Jon also equalled the current junior gents compound national record for a single FITA 18 round at the EMAS Regional Indoor Championships on 18th November 2012 with a score of 584.
As well as these scores, Jon has also broken the county junior compound record for a Worcester round by achieving the perfect score of 300 points during Targetcraft’s open Friday evening session on 12th October. Then on the 14th October at Kettering Archers Open Worcester Tournament, Jon shot another perfect 300 points while shooting in the senior compound category.

Northants archers shot well at this years EMAS Regional Indoor Championships, which took place on 18th November at the Joseph Whitaker Sports Hall in Rainworth, Notts.
Jon Bull of Targetcraft Archers won the junior gents compound section by equalling the current national record with 584!
In the senior gents compound, James Mason of WOAC finished in 3rd place overall (2nd place in EMAS) with 572. Paul Blamire also of WOAC was just behind James in 4th (3rd) place with 563. Tim Bull of Targetcraft was 6th with 546.
Lizzie Cantopher of WOAC unfortunately had to withdraw from the ladies recurve.
Dean Edwards of WOAC finished in 3rd place overall, narrowly missing out on the EMAS trophy by just two 10’s with and equal score for 1st place in EMAS with 561.
On Wednesday 31st October, at the Kettering Sports Awards Jon Bull of Kettering Archers was awarded Young Sportsman of the Year 2012. This tops off a really great year for Jon, also shortlisted for Sports Personality.
Jon now goes on to the Northamptonshire Sports Awards this Thursday 8th November. Where he will also be Joined by fellow Northants junior archer Bradley Denny of Archers of Raunds. Good luck to them both!
